Why do we like it here?

Sainte-Foy is a kindly placed and charming village in a pristine and quiet part of the Rhne-Alpes region. It is an ideal hot spot for skiing, mountain biking, river rafting, rock climbing and hiking.

Only 12km from Val d’Isere, it is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of larger resorts but with the same benefits. Extra benefits include the Lac Noir in the Clou valley and some awesome views of Mont Blanc.

Skiers can enjoy shorter queues than at the mega-popular resorts and open pistes which is ideal for novices and experienced riders alike who want to avoid the crowds. This area has some very prime and reliable north-west facing off-piste spots to take advantage off.

Mountain biking in Saint Foy offers an abundance of natural forest trails near the Vanoise national park with steep gradients ideal for some quick and winding single-track rides. The Spanish Armada trail is a local highlight which connects to the tight Thin Red Line track and the Whiskey and Rye.

You can also get a lift up to Arpettaz before launching back down throw unspoilt villages with incredible glacier vistas. What really makes Sainte Foy a great place for mountain bikers is that just a 20 minute climb is rewarded with 1,500m worth of very decent descent. In winter, bikers can also go skibiking.

Hiking in Sainte Foy is desirable thanks to the 70km worth of footpaths in and around the lush Vanoise National Park and winding across the Italian border. Col du Rocher Blanc and the Col du Mont are particular gems.

The apresphere is quiet here, there is little nightlife to speak of. This is great news for families or groups who are looking for a less populated french alpine experience with fewer queues and plenty more space to play with on the slopes.
