Buy tunes, save the environment – Patagonia Music Collective taking off!

The Patagonia Music Collective launched on the 1st March and it is really starting to take off. Hardly surprising when it is such a simple, effective and soulful idea.

Well known music artists donate an exclusive track to the Patagonia Music Collective, you buy said track, the proceeds go to environmental groups of the artists choosing.

Pearl Jam, Bonnie Raitt, Jack Johnson, Ziggy Marley, Maroon 5, Zac Brown Band, Mason Jennings, Phillip Glass and dozens more great artists have released tracks available to download on iTunes for $0.99.

The Patagonia Music Collective will launch with 22 tracks bundled into two volumes of 11 tracks each. It will continue as a long-term project, with one new benefit track and three emerging tracks to be released each subsequent week. Exclusive benefit compilation albums will be available at varying intervals at Patagonia stores worldwide.
